SWISS TRAINING INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations!! You are now ready to venture into the World of Swiss!!

Players enjoy Swiss tournaments more because no one gets eliminated and they can stay in the room and PARTY!! which means more players for you.

        STEP 1: SET UP

We will only discuss the differences in settings for a Swiss vs what you use for SE's.

Click on arrow and Choose Swiss and Submit

Number of Rounds: For SWISS, set to 4.

Towards the bottom you will see:

        True Swiss System? Yes No

No~~Means tourney will play out until there is one winner declared.Yes~~Means the tourney will end after the designated number of rounds, even if a winner is not declared!! Alsto if there are more players registered than the rounds will allow, players will be dropped.SEEDING IS STILL CHANGED TO RANDOM. THIS IS THE FAIREST OPTION FOR THE PLAYERS!! VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!

Everything else is the same until you get to round 2 of your pairings. You will see one of the two shown below.
The one without the blue strips you can scroll down to the bottom and Accept Current Pairings.

If the blue strips appear it is and indicator that those players have already competed against each other and now it is up to you to rematch them.

It is VERY important to make sure of a few things!!

When switching opponents the main and most important rule is NEVER EVER switch undefeated opponents.

Do NOT take away the bye from a player that hasn't won any rounds. If Cases gives the bye to the same person in a tourney, please pick another player with the same record to switch with.

Beside each players name in (parenthesis) is their round wins, as well on the left of the screen is the players name and the opponents they have previously played, which should help you figure out whom to switch with. You try to keep all wins equal if possible. Ex: 2 wins vs 2 wins, 1 win vs 1 win. Sometimes switching will result in more blue, do not be alarmed, you will figure this out. We recommend practicing setting them up with multiple players using the Cases training site.

Once you determine you have a good swap, choose each of the players one at a time form the drop down menus. Then click swap players. Review Pairings again.

On rare occasions, opponents will have to play each other in keeping wins equal. There should not be 2 pairs with players 1-0.

If you have a good swap blue strips will be gone and you can Accept Current Pairings.
