TOURNEY SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Please do not proceed unless you have spoken to a training HTD.

        STEP 1: LOGGIN IN

Log into the TD Admin Site at http://tourneys.igl.net/tk
Enter your TD name and password

        STEP 2: TD MENU

You will see a menu like the one below:

Most of these are self explanatory we are going to focus on the ones that require instructions. The other links you can explore and discover at your leisure.

Adminster Tournament: This is where you go and see a list of your current tourneys that you have pending. Once in there you will simply click on the jump number of the one you are ready to do.

Create Tournament: This is where you go to set up a new tourney.

        STEP 3: CHOOSING TOURNEY TYPE

As a TD for the first 20 tourneys you are only able to perform Bracket Style (Single Elim) aka SE. After 10 tourneys you will be evalutated to see if more training is needed prior to moving on to Swiss.

Choose Bracket Style (Single-Elim) and Submit

        STEP 4: SETTING TOURNEY DATE

Just click on the yellow date link that you want to do your tourney. Keep in mind that the day rolls over at 12 midnight. (Red is today!!)

        STEP 5: SETTING TOURNEY TIME

Click on the yellow link for the time that you would like to do yours. For now, an hour between tours will be fine. In the future for SE please leave a 2 hour gap, for swiss please leave 3 hours.

        STEP 6: SETTING TOURNEY OPTIONS

A lot of these options are not used regularly. We will go over the ones used for all the tourneys and what they should be set at. Others you may use later as you are trained in different styles.

Name of Tournament (optional): Be creative, you can just list what type of tourney it is if it is a special tourney ie:Backwards. Please no profanity or anything offensive.

Location: List the Game and Room Tour will be hosted in. IE:Vaults/30's/Precious Metals.

Tourney Style: This should always be set to CLASSICNumber of Rounds: For SE this is set to 8 rounds. For SWISS, set to 4. This doesn't mean thats how many rounds there will be, that will depend on the number of players who enter. Should you have more players than your rounds will allow, on closing you can always expand your tournament to include those that have registered.

Minutes between Round Start Times: 20 is a good time.

These options below aren't used for SE and will be learned later. Leave them set at the defaults.

Most folks get confused on the next part.

        Ladderbux Settings

No entry fee; No prize or Ladderbux rewards~~is used for your first 5 tourneys. Cost no buxs to enter and none paid out.

No entry fee; LadderBus to top finishers~~is used for 6th-10th tourneys. No buxs to enter and baby (small) buxs paid to top finishers.

LadderBux entry fee; LadderBux to top finishers ((Entry Fee))~~this cannot be used until tourney number 11. Drop down lets you choose between 5-100 bux entry. Too high and players may run out of buxs to enter and/or too low and players feel it not worth entering. 50-60 is a good place to start.

        Then click Create!!

        STEP 7: OPEN CHECK IN

This is the central point of operating your tourney everything will keep bringing you back to this page.

It is VERY important to remember to open the check-in for the tourney. It will only allow you to do this 24 hours before the set tourney time. If you fail to open in advance you will have players registered that will not be checked in. You will have to advise them to return to the tourney page and click on Teams/Checkin. If players are not checked in they will be dropped from the tourney.

If a player is not there on round 1 and is still not there on round 2, please remove them. Be careful to choose the correct player from the drop down box and click Remove Team button. Make sure you have the right player there is no reversing this process. Players should withdraw themselves by clicking register after tourney is closed, filling in there player name and password and clicking withdraw.

THIS IS WHERE YOU CHANGE SEEDING FROM DEFAULT RATING TO RANDOM. THIS IS THE FAIREST OPTION FOR THE PLAYERS!! VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!

        EDIT TOURNAMENT INFO:

This is used a lot to alter tourney information such as date, time, change from am/pm, this is also where you go to add TD Bux Donations. You can do a certain number of donations a month depending on your membership (premiums get more but premium is not required). You have to get thru your freebies first!!
