MULTI-GAME TRAINING

First step is to play in and observe a tourney in the game you are interested in hosting to give you a good idea of how it's run. We do not require you to be monitored. However, if you feel you would be more comfortable then feel free to contact Admin or trainer and request someone to be in attendance.

Email the admin team with the game you'll be hosting and let them know you'll be hosting in the particular game and when your first tourney will be as a courtesy. They will probably have some great pointers for you!!

Remember your reputation as a TD is on the line so make sure you can handle the game and understand COMPLETELY how to host it BEFORE you attempt a tourney in it. If in doubt request supervision from the Admin or trainer!!

If you want to host a "special" tournament, make sure you understand how the game works, the correct scoring method to determine the winner and all the special rules that apply. Please see the Special Hosting - Tips/Rules listed below and if in doubt, Contact Admin by email prior to setting up a tourney.

To better understand each of these, it's just a matter of reading the rules for each game which are the same as your Rules MACS for the games.

RULE MACS MUST BE RUN PRIOR TO EVERY TOURNEY AND NOT BE ALTERED BY THE TDS UNLESS ITS TO REFLECT A CHANGE IN THE TIME OF A ROUND OR POINTS TO GAME END!!

As you all know we are a Multi-Game league. All of our games are run one of five ways. I will explain the different types of scoring, then I will go into detail which games use which kind of scoring and the tools you will need to host them. If you require further assistance please feel free to contact Admin or trainer/HTD.

        SCORING METHODS:

WINNERS DETERMINED BY SCORES TYPE 1

These types of tournaments are timed rounds and require the players to give their last 5 tokens at the start and the last 5 tokens at the end of each round with the winner being either the player with the most tokens won,or lost if it’s a backwards tour. Backwards variation is only to be played in Roulette, Slots or Vaults.

Score sheet 1 is the Vaults Spreadsheet which is available on the TD Set-Up and Training page.

GAMES USING THIS FORMAT: CASINO ISLAND BJ, KENO, LOST TEMPLE POKER, PANDA PAI GOW, POGO BOWL, POPPIT, QUICK QUACK, RIDE THE TIDE, ROULETTE, SLOTS (Ali Baba, Showbiz), TURBO 21, VAULTS, WORD WHOMP,

WINNERS DETERMINED BY SCORES TYPE 2

These types of tournaments are timed rounds and require the players to give their last 5 digits (and possibly additional tokens noted in rules) of their tokens at the start. The only exception is the ending token reporting. The players are required to report the last 5 digits of their new token count and any additional amount the TD requests (ie. 12345/123) with the winner being determined by the most tokens won in each round. These tours are harder to host as the require more math.

Score sheet 2 is the Tripeaks Spreadsheet. TriPeaks Scoresheet Click to download.

GAMES USING THIS FORMAT: ACES UP, MAHJONG GARDENS, TRI-PEAKS, WORD CRAFT

        WINNERS DETERMINED BY BOARD STATS
These types of tournaments are NOT timed rounds. Each round consists of ONE complete game and requires standing and tokens won at the end of the completed game. (ie; 1/2345) Obtained from the game ranking screen before or after jp spin.

GAMES USING THIS FORMAT: BINGO(after), DICE CITY ROLLERS(after),LOTTSO(after), POPPA ZOPPA(before)

WINNERS DETEREMINED BY WINNING THE DESIGNATED AMOUNTS OF HANDS
These types of tournaments are not necessarily timed rounds. Each round consists of a set amount of hands played. The first player to reach the jp spin (wins 3 hands) wins round. Maximum playing time of 20 minutes per round.

GAME USING THIS FORMAT: TEXAS HOLDEM

WINNERS DETERMINED BY REACHING DESIGNATED GAME END/ GAME SCORE
These types of tournaments are timed only to ensure the players don't take to long. The first player to reach the games end OR to achieve the required game score set by the TD wins. Maximum playing time of 20 minutes per round. You must check the table settings prior to issuing start to make sure they match the rules listed in the macs. If they are not set correctly, the table must be reset.

GAMES USING THIS FORMAT: BLOOP, CANASTA, JUNGLE GIN, QWERTY, SHUFFLEBUMP

        COMMON PROBLEMS:
POPPA rooms only hold 11 people. The backdoors will not allow any extra people in, nor will a POGO mail invitation. Be very careful not to host these during a prime time, as you will need to limit the amount of players entering your tourney.

        POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
The first 8 players entered can play. This may have to be lowered if there are other people in the room.

        MONTHLY SPECIALS
Hosted by Game Admins (HeadTD’s) Unless otherwise stated

Tournament Of Champions (TOC): By Invitation only. Win a tournament the month before gets you qualified for invitation. Cases tracks this so we do not have to. This tournament is held in Vaults (for now) once a month. (Vaults is the only game that we have enough room for all the players.) This will be rotated between the Head TD's that have signed up to host in alpha order, if they can’t host their turn, they will miss their turn until next rotation.

Battle of the Buccaneers Tourney (BOB): For players that did not win the month before to qualify for the TOC. This tournament will be hosted in the same room as TOC either at same time or staggered time. Tourney will start half hour after the TOC. That will allow first round defeated players from the TOC to enter this tourney also. This will be rotated between the Head Td's that have signed up to host in alpha order, if they can’t host their turn they will miss their turn until next rotation.

Battle of the Sexes: Two tourneys side by side Mens Only/Womens Only. Winner of each play each other in a 10 minute ladder battle monitored by host to determine ultimate winner. Loser reports match results via Report Loss on main page. Currently being done in Vaults only. Head Td's hosted.

Hosts vs Players: TDs in one tour. Players in another at same time. Player winner and TD winner will play 1 round via laddering to determine ultimate winner. Loser reports match results via Report Loss on main page. Hosted same as Battle of Sexes. Head TD/s hosted.

TD Masquerade: Hosts create guest pogo nics based on the theme. All players can dress up their mini's. The hosts registered in the tourney will give tidbits, facts, stories, etc about themselves to help the players guess. One guess per question will be allowed. Bonus Bux thru out the tourney. Seasonal tours will also include a decorating your mini contest. ADMIN hosted

Players Masquerade: Buccaneers will be notified in advance if players to masquerade. This allows players to get a temp club pogo nickname to match whatever theme we're doing and to mail the Admin with that screen name. ADMIN hosted

Advance notice will be given. Masquerades are very difficult to organize & host and are currently only hosted by Aggs or Allie, if you feel you may be up to the challenge let us know via Contact Admin for consideration.

Decathlon: True Swiss Format 4-6 rounds. Host schedules one tourney. Each round is scheduled in a DIFFERENT game marked under custom rules. Follow rules for each game. Host will advise players in the tourney to add them to their pogo friends list. TD must be able to host all the games chosen. Variation: card games only. There can be multiple winners in a true swiss and any bonus bux to be awarded will be split evenly among the winners by Cases system! Any HTD or capable TD

Mixer Tourney: Similar to the Decathlon in True Swiss Format with 4-6 rounds. Involves multiple TDs hosting in any given game. All players & TDs meet in the first game room. Round 1 is played and winners announced. Before the round end the TD hosting game 2 goes to their room and awaits the arriving players. Players go to Game 2 for Round 2, winners are announced and the players are sent to Game 3 for Round 3 and so on and so on. The tournament is over when all determined rounds/games have been completed. Use of Yahoo Messenger or PC to coordinate amongst the TDs to give winners to hosting TD, when players are leaving for next room, etc. There can be multiple winners in a true swiss and any bonus bux to be awarded will be split evenly among the winners by Cases system!

TD Tidbits: Following the start of the round the TD will give an interesting fact or tidbit about a TD. Can be real, funny, life experience etc. At the end the players put in their results along with their guess ie. winner/loser (token count) Issues . This was a huge success and we've received many requests for it. First one to guess right wins the bonus buxs. ** Please continue to send emails to aggsandallie@msn.com (Subject: Interesting Tidbits) with interesting tidbits so that we can build a database for these tours. ** Due to information coming to us, these will be hosted only by Aggs or Allie

Brain Buster: Same as Td Tidbits only the TD asks trivia questions. Can be a theme related ...ie. Halloween, Christmas, sports, music etc. At the end the players put in their results along with their guess ie. winner/loser (token count)

Fact or Fiction/True or False: Same as TD Tidbits and Brain Buster except the TD picks facts/fiction(myths) or true/false questions. Players present their answers when reporting results. Bonus bux to first player with right guess. Additional bonus bux for true/false if the player can tell what the true fact is, ie. Friday the 13th had 4 different actors play Jason. marylou/joeblow .... false it had 3

Identity Crisis: Players will be playing as someone else. Players register as usual. The TD then reassigns their identities. Then that player plays for that player the whole game, ie whatever they score it becomes their new identities score. I have my own way of reassigning players. (Currently Hosted by Aggs)

        ANYTIME VARIATION TOURNEYS:

**Open to all hosts. You must include the rules on the tourney page for the special you are hosting as well as announcing it in the room with the correct rules. These have been hosted in slots effectively. If you would like to host these in another game, please contact Admin first to determine if it is feasible.

Players Choice: Winner of the finishing tourney gets to pick the next game played. Vaults/Slots Variation: Winner of the round gets to decide if the next round is a backwards or forwards (winner wins the round or loser wins the round)

Open Spaces: Host collects scores as usual. Player furthest away from their original score wins. (Forward or Backwards does not matter) ie. Player 1 begins 53000 ends 52500 = - 500. Player 2 begins 53000 ends 53200 = +200. Player one wins because their total tokens won/lost is furthest from their beginning score. ***This tourney can only be done in Vaults or slots game.

Twister: First round (Forward) the winner wins the round. Second round (Backwards) the loser wins the round etc. The TD MUST announce prior to each round if it’s Backwards or Forwards. ***This tourney can only be done in Vaults or slots game.

Backwards: All rounds the "winner" is the player who wins the fewest tokens or loses the most. ***This tourney can only be done in Vaults or slots game.

Roulette: Not to be confused with the game "Roulette" TD announces a number (example: 500) the player whose results are CLOSEST to that number wins the round. Can be a positive or negative number if in vaults/slots. If in vaults/slots, please note: if player 1 is up 2500 tokens and the player 2 is down -100 tokens .. the loser would actually win since they are the closest to the +500.

Trivia Tourneys: Pick a topic. Let the winners in each round guess what the answer to your questions are for bonus buxs.

Truth or Dare: Real easy! The TD starts by picking a player, asks a question, etc. That player then picks the next one. Players really have a blast with this. LMAO best hosted at night since it gets kinda outta hand!

Birthday Bash: Players submit their birthday via the Birthday link. Head td's will be notified and set up a "Birthday Party" for these plasers.Best if the Head TD contact player to schedule the tourney the player would like and time convenient for both. Bonus Birthday Bux can be offered! As well, birthday person gets bux refunded for tourney entry fee!

Big Bux Tourneys : (Anything over 1500) Name says it all. Hosted by any host that is capable of gifting or donating the stated amount. Please Contact Admin so tour can be posted on the main page. All hosts can donate even non premium. Premium members are allowed to gift according to their membership. See training pages for further details.

Broken Clock: First round will be a full 10 minute round, each round after will reduce in time ~ Host will announce playing minutes for each round. If a round is under 5 minutes and tokens can be lost, the DQ timer will change from 2 minutes to 1 minute.

Badge Day Tourneys: All host can participate!! The Administrators will make sure that there are tours posted on Weds, Thurs and Tuesday for the Weekly Badges. Bonus buxs offered for those obtaining their badge during tour. IF you'd like to be a part of the rotation please Contact Admin.

Rank Day Tourneys: All host can participate!! The Administrators will make sure that there are tours posted in the weekly Game chosen to advance Ranks in. At the beginning of their current game players will list their rank. If players go up a rank they will win bonus buxs!! This day can be held more than one day and on various days of the week. If you'd like to be a part of the rotation please Contact Admin.

Jumpers Jazz: Winner gets 50 bonus buxs plus extra 10 bux per jumper Runner up get 25 extra buxs plus 10 per jumper
